Garden ll: John Woodley Taggerty-Thornton Rd |
The property as a whole is being developed as a demonstration unit for how trees can be used on farms. The arboretum concept developing out of this makes this a unique and fascinating garden and demonstrates how trees can be used to provide the 'bones' of a great garden. Each year new and different trees are added so that there is both a commercial and an amenity value attached to most of the trees. Small groups of amenity trees will remain after harvest of the timber trees. Constantly changing landscape through the seasons has been a spin off from developing this idea. Mulch from chipping the thinned plantation trees has been used extensively. |
