Garden 4: Rhonda Kelly 566 Crystal Creek Road Alexandra |
The design folloows the natural contours of the land on many descending levels designed to provide views to Alexandra and beyond. A second objective was to provide shade for the house in summer by planting deciduous, native and exotic trees. In doing so, Rhonda has had to consider prevailing environmental conditions. Accordingly plants have been selected for their ability to withstand drought, frost, heavy clay and inhospitable soils. This strategy has unfortunately brought an influx of wildlife into the garaden including kangaroos, wallabies, deer, wombats and rabbits which have proved very destructive. In response to this Rhonda has embarked on a plan to find an unpalatable and unappetising range of plants and as a result has discoverd an unusual palette. |
